Gene Juarez Salons & Spas Celebrates 55 Years of Northwest Beauty

Gene Juarez Salons & Spas turned 55 late last month.

Since its founding in downtown Seattle on Sept. 25, 1971, the beauty business  has grown from a single chair to 12 full-service locations across Washington, serving more than 300,000 guests.

"Fifty-five years is a milestone we don't take lightly," said Lyndie Moore, CEO of Gene Juarez Salons & Spas, in a press release. "Every location we've opened and every partnership we've built comes back to the same idea Gene had in 1971 — guests deserve real expertise and real hospitality."

Through Oct. 31, every guest who books a haircut, color, or skincare service will receive a Gene Juarez gift with purchase. New guests can also save $20 on their first service by mentioning the code GJ55 when booking.

Over the past three years alone, Juarez has opened four new Washington locations and expanded into wellness services.

"I was drawn to the idea of a career in hair from a very young age," the company's namesake founder told 425 in 2016. "I loved the idea of doing something creative while also working with my hands … I knew it would be competitive. If I wanted to succeed, I had to be better than the best — and that was always a motivator."
