Gene Juarez is proud to offer an industry-leading, comprehensive benefits program to support the needs of our employees and their families. Below is additional information regarding the benefits and perks available to eligible employees. Eligibility
Unless otherwise stated, eligibility for benefits begins on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment. In general, employees must work a minimum of 30 hours per week to qualify for full-time status.

Medical
Full-time employees and qualified dependents are eligible to join one of our Cigna medical plans. We offer multiple plan tiers with varying coverage and cost options. Gene Juarez subsidizes a portion of the premiums for employee coverage.

Dental
Full-time employees and qualified dependents are eligible to join one of our dental plans, which are provided through MetLife. We offer a PPO plan.

Vision
Full-time employees and qualified dependents are eligible to join one of our MetLife vision plans, which cover vision services, including allowances for hardware, lenses, and contacts.

Life & AD&D Insurance
Gene Juarez provides $25,000 of Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance coverage for all full-time employees. Full-time employees may also purchase additional coverage at group rates for themselves, their spouse, and children.

Other Fringe Insurance Benefits
The following benefits are available to qualified full-time employees through MetLife:

  • Long-Term Disability Insurance: Provides income replacement if you are unable to work for an extended period due to illness or injury.
  • Critical Illness Insurance: Offers a lump sum payment upon diagnosis of a serious illness like cancer, heart attack, or stroke to cover medical or living expenses.
  • Hospital Indemnity Insurance: Pays a lump sum benefit if you're hospitalized, helping to cover out-of-pocket costs like co-pays or lost income.
  • Accident Insurance: Provides a cash benefit if you're injured in an accident to cover medical bills and recovery costs.
  • Legal Insurance: Covers the cost of basic legal services for personal matters such as estate planning, traffic violations, or family law.
  • Identity Theft Insurance: Assists with the financial and recovery costs associated with identity theft, including legal fees and credit restoration.

Flexible Spending Accounts
Full-time employees may contribute earnings on a pre-tax basis to any of our four flexible spending accounts (FSAs). We offer FSAs for qualifying healthcare, dependent care, public transit, and work-related parking expenses.

Health Savings Accounts
Employees who participate in a qualifying high-deductible medical plan offered by Gene Juarez are eligible to open a Health Savings Account (HSA).

Employee Assistance Program
All employees are eligible to utilize our Employee Assistance Program at any point during their employment.

401(k)
All employees over the age of 18 are eligible to participate in the company’s 401(k) plan, including a matching program. 

Service & Retail Discounts
All employees are eligible to receive generous discounts on services and products.

Paid Time Off
Salon & spa professionals and support team positions accrue PTO on a monthly basis based on hours worked and can begin using PTO on their 90th day of employment. Employees earn 1 hour of PTO for every 30 hours worked in their first year. Full-time employees have the opportunity to earn PTO at a higher rate after 1 year of employment.
